Integrity

Proverbs of the Day: Proverbs 28:6, 18 for January 28. According to the dictionary "integrity" means the "quality of being honest or fair" or the "state of being complete or whole/undivided". Interesting. In this section of Proverbs the theme is covering ethics and finances but I find the definition of completeness and being undivided linked with integrity interesting. I think too often we don't associate who we are with integrity. Are we being who God created us to be? Are we being true to who we are in Christ. This is probably a stretch to this verse, but bear with me. When we are who we are in Christ (integrity) we can rest in Him and know we are safe. Not from danger, for God's Word tells us that we will face persecution, but we are in His care. But when we are undivided, when we are distorting right and wrong; when we are not acting as we should, we suddenly fall (or dig our own grave). God desires us to live with integrity. Why? That's who He is. He is truth, honest, fair, and just. He asks us to BE as He is and when we do that we can rest knowing whatever happens, He's in control. Live with INTEGRITY in all areas, especially in who you are in Christ.
